Sustainability

To us, sustainability is about our children and our grandchildren, and the world we will leave them. Positive practices are at the core of OMM Label, and in every step of production we keep this at the forefront of our minds, opting for more sustainable and ethical approaches.

We chose premium organic cotton for our clothing, designed to last. You’ll be able to still wear these pieces again and again, well after the sun sets on your breastfeeding journey. With quality like this, you can even share the love and pass your pieces on to a fellow mama.

OMM Label has joined the circular fashion movement. We partnered with Airrobe, so you can re-sell or rent your pre-loved garments, knowing you're making a positive impact. You are extending the life of your clothes and also making money in the process it's a WIN WIN!

Fashion Revolution

We have studied the FASHION'S FUTURE: THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS course by the Fashion Revolution. OMM Label follows the movement's beliefs that in the fashion industry we must value people, the environment, creativity, and profit in equal measure.

Organic Natural Fibres

Our clothing is made from 100% organic cotton, for good reason. Traditional cotton farming with GM seeds and the use of harmful chemicals like pesticides damages the environment and is detrimental to the health of cotton farmers.

By choosing organic cotton, not only are you choosing the more sustainable option, but also the more ethical way, organic cotton farming is helping farmers live longer and earn more.
For more information about why organic cotton is our choice, read our blog Why Organic Fibres?

By making conscious decisions to buy less and buy smarter; like high quality products made from organic fabrics. We can help reduce the negative impact of the fashion industry, from those at the beginning of the chain all the way to ourselves.

Compostable packaging

A lot of waste produced by the fashion industry is through packaging. We have eliminated the need for harmful plastics by using sustainable replacements.
Our orders all come with digital receipts, a postcard note printed on recycled paper and use Noissue compostable tissue paper, stickers and mailer bags.

Noissue products can literally be thrown in the compost after use!

Carbon Neutral Courier

OMM Label is a partner with Sendle, a completely carbon neutral courier service.

Sendle offsets their emissions accumulated when making deliveries by supporting initiatives that reduce emissions. Including regenerating precious forest, replacing old equipment with more efficient technology, or even training communities in beekeeping!

Who made your clothes?

We’re proud to partner with Anika’s family business in Bangladesh, who are doing awesome work to actively help support their farmers, their workers and the environment.

Our manufacturer’s certifications and initiatives

As a business, but also as mums! We believe it’s essential the people creating our products are treated ethically. The workers at Anika’s factory are paid fairly, work in safe conditions and receive work benefits including free child care facilities, free medical treatments and free sanitary products for women.

Anika’s business also has Fair Trade and GOTS certification, meaning OMM Label products are organic and support small local farmers in India.

Products with the Fairtrade Mark are supporting small-scale cotton farmers, helping to build stronger farmer-owned organisations and encourage sustainable production. Fairtrade Standards also stipulate that women farmers should be paid directly (rather than through their husbands or male family members), encouraging more women to become cotton farmers!

BSCI is an initiative open to retailers, importers and brands to engage in improving working conditions in their global supply chain. It works to support buying companies to integrate the BSCI Code of Conduct into their business practices and develop their supply chain while respecting labour rights.

Global Organic Textile Standard Certification. The worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, which includes ecological and social criteria.

ISO 9001 Certification monitored by a third-party body to ensure consistency and quality, the third party body runs to the international standards developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
